Hundreds of local children will be gardening more than ever thanks to an initiative by Woodcote Green.

Launched last year, the Green Fingered Kids scheme was designed to get more schools and school children growing and gardening.

This year over 50 schools signed up to the program to collect vouchers towards their gardening clubs. Thousands of pounds worth of vouchers have been distributed to the schools this year, which can be spent on gardening accessories, tools, seeds and/or plants at Woodcote Green Nurseries.

General Manager Phil Barnden said, "it's been an overwhelming success. It's a brilliant way to get youngsters gardening and a great way for us to continue supporting our community. We are thrilled to have so many local schools participating and have plans to extend the scheme even further."
